Technical Sales Questions Tile Natural Stone and Installation Standards

Industry standards get updated on a regular basis and full overhauls are done every few years. It is important to stay on top of standards to ensure you are manufacturing, selecting and installing products correctly.

Riata is unable to distribute copyrighted information like the TCNA Handbook or the NSI/MIA DSDM (Dimension Stone Design Manual), however we are happy to provide specific excerpts and provide guidance, proper interpretation and an explanation of the intent of the standards and charts that are contained within, pertaining to your specific request.

We will often reference NSI (Natural Stone Institute), TCNA, (Tile Council of North America), ANSI (American National Standards Institute), OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), ADA  (Americans With Disabilities Act) and USGBC (United States Green Building Council) among many other industry organizations that create testing, standards and codes.

You can of course purchase these and other guides on your own from their respective websites, but Riata will provide all the necessary info on how to properly reference and use these tools so you don't have to spend hours looking through hundreds of pages of information on your own and second guess if you've fully completed your due diligence.
